February 25th

One unhappy baby.  She really wanted something placed in her mouth to suck on.  Lately, she has been taking pacifiers a little better when she is in the mood to suck on something.  Hopefully, she won't get addicted to sucking on my finger like Whitney is.

February 24th

Will has a little game called 'Going on a treasure hunt' that you do little hand motions on someone's back.  You have "spiders crawling" up your back, you get "stabbed", you have a cool breeze on your neck, and things like that.  It always makes Whitney laugh when Will does it to her.  This time, Whitney did it to Will.  It was pretty cute.

February 23rd

Here we are ready for our first walk of the new year.  I thought it looked kind of nice outside, so we walked just a couple of blocks to the library.  It was okay walking there but it actually started lightly snowing on us on the way back.  So we will be waiting at least a couple more weeks before we make another attempt at going on a walk anywhere.  Whitney had fun collecting the rocks and leaves she found on the ground.

February 22nd

I babysat another little boy for a couple of hours twice this past week as him mom had to go to class.  Whitney was thrilled when I told her that Jesse was coming over.  He is one of her best friends and one of two kids she talks about the most.  We know them from church.  Anyway, Whitney had a fun time showing Jesse all her toys.  I think she was trying to impress him with the things she could build from her half block/ half lego toys.

February 21st

My two cute girls on the bed.  At least one of them is happy.  Sometimes that is all I can ask for when I am trying to take a picture.

February 20th

We often comfort Rachel by bouncing her in her little chair.  When my hands are too busy, I bounce her with my foot.  Whitney has obviously picked up on that little trick and started bouncing baby Rachel to try to get her to stay asleep.

February 19th

Whitney took one look at Will's tie he wore to church and informed him that there were flowers on it.  Will told her that they weren't flowers but actually little Chinese stars, or something like that.  So I took a closer peek at the tie after church to see who was right and, sorry Will, I have to go with Whitney on this one.  But it is still a good tie.

February 18th

Whitney managed to get one of Rachel's pair of pants on one of her legs.  It wouldn't go up, of course, since it was much too small.  I think she was just really happy to be sort of wearing two pairs of pants.  She kept jumping all over the bed afterwards.

February 17th

Our little baby Rachel is not so little anymore.  It was time to take out her old clothes and get out the bigger size.  So we put away the newborn clothes and even most of the 0-3 month clothes because they don't fit her very well.  Soon we will have to call her our big baby Rachel.

February 16th

I had two sleeping babies on the couch together.  Aren't they so cute?  I did end up moving Rachel after taking this picture since I didn't want her so close to the edge of the couch.  What a joy the two of them bring into my life.

February 15th

It is a little hard to tell from this picture, but Whitney is in the middle of jumping on the bed.  Her legs are up the air.  Jumping on our bed is one of Whitney's favorite pasttimes.  I use to be really nervous that she would fall off the bed (like those monkeys), but she does a good job staying close to the middle of the bed.  So that is good.

February 14th

I made an omelet for our Valentines Day dinner.  It turned out pretty tasty with the sausage, onion, and tomato added to it.  We tried to even cut it into a heart shape in celebration.

February 6th

Here is one tired little girl.  I had to wake her up for some reason so I turned on the living room lights and she was not happy about her nap being cut short.  Sorry baby girl.

February 5th

Well, I found our missing pictures.  Somehow they were placed in a different spot on our computer.  Anyway, this is Whitney licking the very last crumbs of our parmesan popcorn we made for the Super Bowl.  We only watched the game for the last half hour (about six minutes of game time).  With the diet we couldn't make our regular Super Bowl treats.  But we did have some really yummy parmesan cheese popcorn.  Whitney loved it.

February 13th

What could be cuter than a sleeping baby?  There really isn't anything I can think of.  Rachel is a good little night sleeper but it is rare for her to take a nice nap during the day.  So the housework doesn't get as done as I would like.  Oh well.

February 12th

Whitney has become very independent.  As we were leaving my parents' house, Whitney got her coat on all by herself.  She did a pretty good job getting both arms in, but the coat was upside down.  Maybe the hood makes a nice little cushion for your bottom.  Anyway, we convinced Whitney to let us help her fix it so she could get into the carseat.

February 11th

Grandpa and Rachel have a bonding moment.  Rachel seems very at peace.  My dad believes this is the first time he held her since her birth.  I guess Christmas was too crazy and everyone wanted turns holding Rachel.

February 10th

Whitney looks in Will's travel bag that he had packed Thursday night so we could be ready to leave on Friday when he got home from work.  We went down to Pasco to see my family this past weekend and it was lots of fun.

February 9th

Here I am just showing off Rachel's chubby legs.  Whitney was so little and had skinny legs for so long that I have been extra careful to make sure Rachel eats and eats.  I am proud of all her little chubs.  Rachel is now 10 1/2 pounds and is in the 75th percentile for her weight.  That makes me happy.

February 8th

Whitney started unloading our cupboard and giving everything to Will.  Will ended up with lots of canned food, oats, sugars, and things like that on his lap.  Whitney was having such a great time taking everything out.  She even helped put things away afterwards.  Yeah for having a good helper.

February 7th

So I don't know what happened with our pictures from the fifth and sixth.  They might have been deleted by a certain young child who shall remain nameless but likes to play with our camera.  Oh well.  Here is an apple-whatever cobbler I made the other night.  We ended up choosing strawberries, but you can put whatever you want into it.  It tasted pretty good with some frozen yogurt on top.

February 4th

Rachel is now big enough that she can go in the carrier.  I am not sure if she actually likes it or not, but at least we get to use both hands when she is in the carrier.  That is a plus.

February 3rd

This is where Will works.  We all went there on Friday to meet some of his coworkers and to pick him up so we could do some more things in Spokane.  It took me a long time to find a parking spot, so I ended up being a little late getting him.  But we had a fun time hanging out in Spokane.  And his coworkers all loved seeing our little girls.

February 2nd

I promise that I put Whitney's hair into some kind of hairtie everyday.  And everyday, usually several times during the day,  Whitney manages to pull it all the way out.  I don't know why she likes having her hair in her face, but it always looks crazy.  But it isn't my fault - I promise.

February 1st

I shall call this picture 'falling over'.   I set Rachel against the couch corner and went to get a picture of her sitting up.  She only managed to stay up for a picture or two before she just started tipping.  It was a funny very gradual tip as well.

January 31st

The girls sort of matched today.  I got Whitney dressed first; she told me she wanted purple pants and a green shirt.  When it was time to dress Rachel, Whitney said she should wear purple pants and a green shirt as well.  Rachel doesn't own a super green shirt, so this was the best we could do.  Aren't they adorable?

January 30th

For Family Home Evening last Monday we had a fun lesson/activity.  One of our stake leaders talked about always improving our marriages during stake conference, so we opened a bunch of chocolate kisses carefully so the wrappers would stay intact.  Then we took out the little papers and put in our own little love notes to each other.  Now we get to open one kiss everyday and read the little note and eat the candy.  It is a fun thing to look forward to everyday.
