Happy Memorial Day! We want to thank all those in the armed forces or who use to be. We went to a Memorial Day program with my family; it was a nice service. At the end, everyone released yellow balloons for their loved ones.

Something about dropping things down the handrail of the staircase was fascinating Sunday morning. It started off with an orange ball and then moved to this shoe. The shoe didn't slide down as well though. Imagine that.

We spent a lot of the day Saturday at the Playground of Dreams. It is a really cool and really huge park that was built by the people living in the Tri-Cities. Even I helped out a little bit when I was like twelve years old. Whitney thought everything was great fun. This was Whitney's first time on a tire swing.

We went down to Pasco for Memorial Day weekend. Whitney was so excited to see everybody. Here my mom and Rachel relax on the porch swing while watching everyone playing outside.

Here Whitney is being all helpful by dishing out the salad to go with our dinner. Whitney really likes salad, but she even more so likes helping somehow with dinner. She did a good job getting most of the lettuce to the plate.

B is for Bear and Basket and Butterfly and Baby sitting in the Bumbo Biting her fingers. Look at me being alliterate. Rachel almost always has something in her mouth to chew on. Fingers are the easiest and end up in her mouth quite often.
May 22nd, 2012
We ordered a copy of the nursery manual in hopes of enticing Whitney to participate more in Family Home Evening. We are going to try to do some lessons from the manual some of the time; maybe she will understand it better. We haven't tried it yet, but our fingers are crossed.

Will is very good with Whitney's playdough. Here he has made some really good looking jack-o-lanterns. my things made from playdough never turn out that well. Thankfully, Whitney doesn't mind if all my things resemble balls or snakes.

Something about church must have tuckered everyone out. Will, Whitney, and Rachel all decided to have a nice nap on Sunday afternoon. They were all asleep at the same time (it only lasted for like twenty minutes), but that was just long enough for me to write in my journal in peace. Hooray for Sunday naps.

Saturday was the day of my friends baby shower. I got a big box and stuffed it with everything I would need for the food and games and prizes and whatnot. I was surprised at how much stuff I had to bring. But the party was a rousing success and it was fun getting together with some friends in the ward. It was a relief to have it over though; I think I will wait a little while before I plan another big event.

I suprised Will by picking him up from work on Friday with a card and some homemade cookies. We then went to Riverfront Park to play. It was a perfectly warm, but not too hot, day so it was a lot of fun. Here us girls are by the goat. I'm looking at the camera; I don't know what was so fascinating over where Whitney and Rachel are looking.

Some of my family and their friends went to Silverwood on Thursday for science day. I guess there was a cool robot and some scientific things you could do, but they bypassed those for the amusement rides. We met with them afterwards at McDonalds for a quick dinner before they had to drive back to Pasco. We weren't together very long, but it is always fun to see them. Thanks for stopping by you guys.

Rachel gets a balloon and she was very taken with it. Whitney and I blew up some balloons and were throwing them around the apartment. Rachel got one and managed to hold onto it for awhile. Thankfully, she has no teeth so her biting it didn't do the balloon any harm. But Whitney's balloon was not so lucky; she accidentally squeezed it so hard that there became a tiny hole and Whitney got all sad as the balloon got smaller and smaller. Sorry Whitney.

Whitney managed to find and open our box of wedding cards. She pulled out like fifty cards from their envelopes and had everything on our floor. I think she was having a fun time pulling the cards from their envelopes; she didn't really seem to care about the picture that was on the card. I spent about half an hour the next day trying to put the cards back into envelopes. But it was worth it because Whitney found a card that had twenty bucks in it. So that was exciting.

Rachel getting another taste of rice cereal. She usually gets one rice cereral bowlful everyday. We are going to start on oatmeal next week since we just bought a box. Let's hope she likes it as much as the rice cereal - maybe we will have a better eater than Whitney.

Happy Mothers Day to all you mothers out there!! I love being a mother and being able to be home to raise my children. Our house is often crazy and messy and loud, but I wouldn't trade it for anything else. I feel so very blessed. I also was raised by a very good mother who I am more thankful for everyday. Thank you mothers for all you do.

I couldn't get the lighting to be right for this picture. But it is the card that came with the flowers that Will sent me for Mother's Day. I got a beautiful bouquet with tulips and daisies - Will said that daises are suppose to represent the five year anniversary, which is coming up really soon for us. Thank you for the flowers and nice note Will (and Whitney and Rachel).

This is the "kitty's house". Our upstairs people have a couple of cats and this little house is on their back porch. Whitney likes to climb up the stairs and see if the kitty is inside the house (which it never is because it is too scared of Whitney) and she wants the kitty to eat its food. It is really cute to see Whitney call to the kitty "Kitty, come back, come back and eat your food". Now if we could only convince Whitney to come back and eat her food.

Here Will is being a manly man and working with tools. And doesn't he look good working with that wrench?
May 9, 2012
Will's mom sent me some flowers for mothers day. Thank you so much for the beautiful tulips. I absolutely love tulips and our whole kitchen is smelling heavenly right now.

I couldn't help but use this cute picture of Rachel. I think her outfit looks all professional; the pants are even all crisp and clean. And then her happy smile comes out and she simply looks like a professional baby model. And look at those chubby arms, what's not to love?

Rachel is our little princess in training. But she won't be a spoiled selfish princess. We will have to teach her how to be kind a loving and sweet. I think both our girls are little princesses and it is our job as their parents to train them the right way.

I am planning a baby shower for a friend. This morning I took advantage of the little bit of quiet and made some of the party favors. It says 'hugs and kisses from the expectant mom'. I need to make about 40 of them and I have more respect for my mom who made them for our wedding reception because they are taking a fair amount of work. But I think they are going to be cute.

We went to Discovery Playground today in Spokane. It was a fun park, but a little chilly so we didn't stay as long as we previously planned. Whitney loved it though.
May 4, 2012
Whitney has lots of bears and they each have different names. Lately, we have been playing with them a lot. Now, it is obvious which one is 'Pooh' bear, but can you guess which one is 'brown bear', 'sister bear', and 'teddy bear'.
Answers: Brown bear is the one she is holding. Sister bear is the light brown bear in the back. And the yellow bear is teddy. You better know them all when you visit because she will correct you when you are wrong.
May 3, 2012
Whitney was loading up her purse with all kinds of goodies - cards and socks and little toys. A girl can never be too prepared you know.
May 2, 2012
You cannot help but love this picture. Take a close look and you can see my favorite school's logo on Rachel's onesie.
May 1, 2012
Whitney is "helping" Rachel get dressed so we can go outside. It was light jacket weather, apparently.
April 30, 2012
It is tummy time all around. While Rachel got tummy time, Whitney requested a blanket for her Micky and Pooh bear so they can have tummy time as well. They liked it better than Rachel did.
