For the past couple of days, Rachel has been slowly crawling.  We have been working on it for awhile, so I am really happy that she started.  Now the whole house needs to be baby-proofed some more because she has already proven that she can find small things all over the place.  Good job learning to crawl Rachel.

I haven't been doing very good at scrapbooking lately.  But this morning I had some free time and two sleeping children, so I thought I would try to get some more of Rachel's scrapbook done.  Whitney woke up while I was in the process and she wanted to do some glueing too.  I convinced her to eat breakfast while glueing, so it worked out.

We went to playgroup at the park today.  Whitney and some of her other church friends all sit on the large rock together.  I know not all the kids are looking at the camera, but it was hard enough just getting all four children to just look up at the same time, so I will take what I can get.  Whitney really likes her church friends and talks about them sometimes.

Rachel is all happy to see us again after our little Idaho trip.  Whitney wanted to know what had happened to grandma when she woke up Sunday morning and was a little sad that grandma had gone back to grandma's house.  Grandmas are pretty special.

So you cannot tell from this picture, but Will and I are on top of the ferris wheel.  We were waiting for some more people to get on before we really got going.  This was Will's first time on a ferris wheel so we had to ride it while we were in Silverwood for our five-year anniversary.

My mom came and watched the girls so Will and I could go to Idaho for our five year anniversary.  We left today after Will got off work.  Here Will is trying to skip rocks in the Couer-d'Alene Lake.  He tried to teach me the trick, but I think I am a lost cause.  He did pretty good though until some other people came close by and we decided we shouldn't keep skipping rocks.

We spent most of Tuesday driving.  Both of the girls were very tuckered out and fell asleep early when we made it back to Cheney.  They were good little travelers today.

Monday was ice blocking day.  We all got blocks of ice and made a huge "rain"from oldest to youngest.  It was only a little scary going down the big hill behind the Provo temple in the big train. 
It was Will's very first time ice blocking and he did a good job.  So it was really fun.

We went and visited Will's grandpa after church.  He lives in a really nice assisted living place right outside of American Fork.  It was great chatting with him for a couple of hours.  And you know he must be special because Whitney gave him a big hug and didn't mind sitting on his lap (and she is usually much too shy).  Here we are in grandpa's room hanging out for a bit.

We had professional family pictures taken Saturday evening.  The whole Anderson clan wore black shirts and blue jeans.  The lady who took the pictures is going to send out cds to everyone, so I am excited to see her shots.  Here is my favorite that I took.  Rachel is just so stinkin cute in the bucket with her tongue sticking out.

We went to a family fun center called Provo Beach Resort on Friday.  It was awesome.  There was bowling and croquet and laser frenzy and a ropes course and all kinds of cool things.  Here we are at the bowling alley part of the building.  I played three games of bowling and my scores got higher and higher each time, so maybe practice really could make perfect.  (Although I still have a long, long way to go before I buy my own ball and shoes).

We went to the BYU paleontology museum on Thursday.  Whitney was very active and running around everywhere.  So it was impossible to get a good picture, but here she is sitting for a moment with her sister on some kind of dinosaur bone/bench thing.

So this picture actually got taken a little later because I didn't want to take my camera to the temple, but we went to Mount Timpanogas temple as a family Wednesday evening.  We got there just in the nick of time to do some sealings.  It was very wonderful to go to the temple with my parents and my endowed siblings and their spouses and just to feel of the spirit that is always in the temple.

We made the first part of our journey today.  After Will got off work, we drove out to Pasco.  It was Conner's tenth birthday, so we got to sing to him and watch him open presents.  Then we continued our drive to Utah for the family vacation.  Conner and my mom made a cool 'eye' cake that my dad is currently lighting.  Happy Birthday Conner!!

We went and saw the surprise free movie at the theater on Monday.  It was Despicable Me and was pretty funny.  But Whitney especially liked the cool pop out advertisement for the next Ice Age movie.  She wanted to touch all the little cardboard animals.

I shredded an apple today in my cheese grater.  I needed some apple shreds for the muffins I made for a special Saturday breakfast.  I have never tried to do anything else in my cheese grater besides cheese, but the apple worked just fine.  The muffins even ended up tasting pretty good.

Rachel is so close to crawling.  She can get into the crawling position and she can move her arms forward, but she won't move her legs yet without help.  Here she comes close to the camera - she really wants it.

Will came home from work and had some cuddle time with Rachel.  Rachel really likes cuddling with her daddy.

For the first time, Rachel managed to spill a whole cup full of water down her shirt.  I was eating lunch and I got up to grab something and Rachel got my cup and tipped it over.  She didn't start crying or anything, she just looked very confused.

I bought those single serving cheese things that Will told me he always called "fake" cheese growing up.  I thought Whitney might eat little 'sandwiches' of saltines and the cheese.  But I was wrong, again.  Sometimes I wonder how my two year old can survive on hotdogs and pudding and peanuts, but maybe one day she will like other foods.  Here, Whitney takes her cheese and makes it into a ball.  She kind of treated it like playdough.

Whitney got this ball for her first Christmas.  It lights up and bounces around to music and is really cool.  We got it out today in hopes of convincing Rachel to crawl toward it, but it didn't work.  But Whitney decided she liked playing with the ball again.

We tried to go see the sun going down tonight.  Will had a great idea that we should drive to the top of the hill in Cheney and see the sunset.  Unfortunately, we arrived like ten minutes too late and the sun was mostly down, but we still got to see some pretty colors in the sky.  We will have to try again another day.

We went out to pick up my new glasses today.  We stopped at the park on the way home.  It was a really hot day, so it was fun to play in the water and get a little wet.  Whitney thought the water shooting out from the holes on the ground were pretty cool.  The mother bear came out in me when a little boy tried to push Whitney away since he wated to use her hole; I don't mind being mean to other people's kids if they are picking on my daughter since she is too shy to stick up for herself.

Ausgust 3, 2012

We found my box of collectibles.  I have saved most little notes and letters and tickets over the years.  So we took a walk down memory lane.  Whitney liked opening all the cards that Will has given me.  She also kept trying to find a picture of Will in the box since she found a picture of me and a picture of Jesus that my roommate drew for me.

We got out some bigger clothes for Rachel.  She is wearing some cute striped pants; Whitney and I also wore stripes today.  Look how cute the two of them are.  Just disregard Whitney's dirty face; she has decided that she loves dirt and doesn't love getting her face washed.

Whitney wanted to change Rachel's diaper.  They required a lot of assistance from dad, but she was still able to wipe her all by herself.  Rachel was pretty patient too for the extra long process.

Whitney and I did some coloring together today during a Rachel nap.  You can kind of see my paper; it is covered in shapes since we are working on recognizing more shapes.  Whitney really liked the purple diamonds and I had to color a lot of those.
