Will gave me my birthday present early since we are going to be gone for my birthday on Saturday and wouldn't be able to return it if I didn't want it. Whitney helped me open the package - she is very good at unwrapping. It was a cool alarm clock that can also have other music things attached to it. I like playing music while folding laundry, but Will's cd player has stopped working. So now I will be able to listen to music again. We tried it out and spent a little time just listening to music in the bedroom. Thanks Will for the present.

After we finished up learning all about the letter 'A' for alphabet days, we let the kids just sit and play for like twenty minutes while us moms just talked. It is nice having a couple other moms in the ward who are in the same position as me and just being able to chat. Mostly we talk about our kids since their our main focus at this point in our lives.

Whitney made this with her blocks all by herself. When I asked her what it was, she told me a temple. I think it looks like a very good temple and I was proud of her for making it.

It was such beautiful weather today that we spent a lot of time outside. Rachel doesn't mind the grass as much as she use to. Especially if she is crawling toward the camera. Sorry baby girl, you still cannot have it.

September 23, 2012
This is the only picture that got taken yesterday. I am not sure what is going on, but I think that is me on the couch in the living room and Whitney is next to me. I don't know why it is so dark though.
September 22, 2012
For the past couple of days, Whitney has really been into wearing gloves. She has this blue pair and a pink striped pair that she really likes. It is, thankfully, still too warm to actually need gloves. But I won't tell her she cannot wear them in the house if she wants to.

This was my first time geocaching. Will has gone with the scouts a couple of times and they always come back happy and excited. So we decided to go just for fun. We went to three different spots here around Cheney and we were able to find two caches, so I think that was pretty good.

Whitney decided that she was old enough to not need the big girl chair attached to her chair anymore. I am not as convinced as she was, but we did take off the chair and let her just sit in a regular chair. She kind of has to sit on her knees or stand a bit to see well enough to eat at the table, but she still hasn't let us put the big girl seat back on her chair. Instead, it became a boat and Whitney rode it all around the house.

We started alphabet days on Wednesday with Whitney's two favorite friends from church. Whitney is holding a basket to hold the letters that climb the tree (we read Chicka Chicka Boom Boom). It was just an introduction to the alphabet.

Will and Whitney made the leaning tower of pisa, or perhaps the foolish man's house - take your pick.
September 17, 2012
Whitney wanted to do stickers after dinner. She didn't tell me she wanted to use my face as her canvas though.

Whitney informed me today that because she was wearing a pretty dress, she must be getting married. I asked her who she was marrying and she told me winnie the pooh. So here is the first picture of the happy couple. Whitney also informed me that Rachel was going to marry winnie the pooh as well - maybe we can have a double wedding.

We are going to start potty training again this upcoming week. Some of Whitney's friends are now potty trained and Whitney has noticed that they go potty, so she has been asking about it some more. I am hoping she is more ready than last time a couple of months ago when we tried. So I made a potty chart that is now hanging on our wall. Whitney will be able to put stickers in the boxes for sitting on the potty and can earn prizes that we bought at the dollar store. My fingers are crossed that she is more ready to become potty-trained now.

We went to a funeral today. I tried to dress Whitney and Rachel appropriately, even though I knew they could just hang out in the nursery. The previous stake patriarch who was in our ward for many years passed away; it was nice to go pay our respects. Will still had to work, so he didn't make it, but there were hundreds of people there. He was a really nice guy and will be missed by many.
September 13, 2012
We went to an indoor playground today. Cheney's family center offers indoor playgrounds twice a week during the cold season. Whitney and Rachel both had a blast playing with toys and balls and slides. Here Whitney is crawling through the tunnel.

September 12, 2012
Whitney left her crayons and coloring book on the table last night. Rachel found it quite quickly this morning after waking up and tried to do some coloring. Whitney was still asleep or she would have never allowed this to happen. She has become a little possessive of some of her things.
September 11, 2012
Whitney looks a bit cramped sleeping in the stroller. We went to a friend's house for lunch after playgroup and we were there a bit longer than planned. Both girls fell asleep while we were walking home. But I took Rachel out when we got home because she really needed to eat.
September 10, 2012
And Rachel is eating some of her most favorite thing - paper. She, like Whitney is always doing, pulled out the bookmark from my book and started eating it. I ended up needing a new bookmark because this one was all wet and shredded. Apparently, I need some kind of stronger bookmark.
September 9, 2012
Whitney wore a new dress today at church. She is also holding one of the library books. We check out new books almost every week. I particularly like this one about a smart mother.
September 8, 2012
Whitney dances with two balloons tied to her arms - obviously feeling a lot better. The balloons were a major hit today.
September 7, 2012
Poor Whitney had a fever today. She was really cranky and I convinced her to let me take her temperature by bribery. We ended up watching Cosby shows and eating otterpops most of the day to make her feel better. By Saturday, she was back to her usual self.
September 6, 2012
We went to the park today and across the street is the fire station. Today the firemen were testing all their equipment. The trucks were in the middle of the street, which had been taped off so no other cars could drive down. It was interesting watching them for a little while.

September 5, 2012
Wednesdays are always story time at the library. Usually I push both girls in the double stroller the couple of blocks to get to the library, but not today. Whitney wanted to push teddy bear all by herself to the library. Our walk was a bit slower than normal, but she made it all the way to the library and back. I thought it was pretty cute.
September 4, 2012
This is a Whitney picture. She has been fascinated by taking pictures of our ceiling. Then she wants to look at all her pictures she took. So we go through the camera and find the Whitney ones. I guess taking pictures of the ceiling has replaced the desire to take pictures of mom, I don't know if I am happy about that or not.
September 3, 2012
We went to Fish Lake for Labor Day. I thought it would be really crowded, but it was mostly empty. Will tried to teach Whitney the joys of skipping rocks, but I think she mostly just liked throwing them into the water and seeing the big splash. Rachel was content playing on the grass beside me.
September 2, 2012
Corn was on sale at the store, so we bought enough for our chicken dinner. Whitney was eager to help shuck the corn and she thought the little hairs on the corn were funny. She kept asking me why there was hair on the corn and I kept telling her I didn't know, does anyone know why corn grows that way so I can explain it to Whitney?
September 1, 2012
This beautiful shirt was knitted by Will's mom. Whitney wore it and now it is being passed down to Rachel. Rachel must like the shirt because she has a big smile.
August 31, 2012
We had a ward campout the last weekend of August. It was like a end-of-summer last celebration before school started. Here Whitney and I settle in the tent. It was pretty cold. So we slept with lots of layers on. But it was still fun camping.
